Find me that stairway to heaven

Find me the stairway to heaven
Pass me that silver key
Let me open the golden gates
Where my angel runs wild and free

Let me in for just one minute
Just to tell them how much they mean
Just one minute thats all i ask
To this place only angels have been

I know of this stairway to heaven
For my angel took steps there one day
And as they reached the top
All we could do was pray

Ive been told that stairway to heaven
Is just for the chosen few
And thats why angels let you in
But the pain hurts of missing you

I know its there just waiting
To fall out from the sky
But its closed to them thats living
Only open to them that die

I will be patient and wait my turn
Until i become one of the chosen few
And as i climb that stairway to heaven
I know that again i will be with you.

As i stand upon this grass so green
I wonder back to where Ive been

Places, faces of them i once knew
Swapped now for friends of new

I see the light at the tunnels end
As i say goodbye to all my friends

As i climb that rainbow to pastures new
My mind thinks back to times with you

Tears falls down like trickles of rain
As i know i shall never see you again

What did i do to deserve this strife
And will it be better in the next life

I close my eyes its time to rest
And i know its the end of life's test

And slowly i drift of to ever lasting sleep
